Grace Tipling Hall is an historic theatre located in the heart of town in the Town Hall building. You can book the hall for private events, including theatre productions, weddings and a variety of other functions.

We would be happy to assist with ticket sales during business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Tickets must be provided by the event organizer at least two weeks prior to the event. The Town can only accept cash or cheque, money collected and tickets unsold must be picked up within 1 week after the event.
To cancel a booking, you need to pay a $21 cancellation fee. You must give eight weeks' notice for all cancellations.
Grace Tipling Hall was built in 1882 and was the social centre of the town for many years. It has also acted as an important social space for local community group meetings and a performance venue for concerts, movies and theatre productions.
The theater was named in 1992 after life-long Shelburne resident, Grace Tipling.
In 2020 the Town of Shelburne applied for funding for a feasibility study for Grace Tipling Hall through Innoweave (McConnell Foundation) and Senco (at Georgian College) – both are social enterprise incubators. Town of Shelburne was approved for $8,000.00 in funding for our Innoweave Social Enterprise Implementation Coaching project. An additional $4500 was awarded from SENCO.
The feasibility research explored how to maintain a sustainable Grace Tipling Concert Hall as an urban amenity promoting social prosperity, and contribute to the following outcomes:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report EDC 2021-02 regarding the Grace Tipling Hall Revitalization and Feasibility Project for information;
AND THAT Council receives the Grace Tipling Hall Feasibility Study presentation from Emmett Ferguson with the firm Eko Nomos for information;
AND THAT the recommendations from the Grace Tipling Hall Feasibility Study be used to guide future capital, programming and staffing resources and be included in future annual budgets for the consideration of Council.
