Fall Flushing

Fall Hydrant Flushing will start September 18 until October 9.  Hydrant flushing will follow a schedule which is broken down into three zones. Please see the hydrant flushing zones map. 

Zone 1:  September 18-22 (West of Owen Sound)
Zone 2:  September 25-September 29 (East of Owen Sound/North 89)
Zone 3:  October 2-9 (South of 89)

Flushing will release the buildup of iron and minerals from the Town’s water mains, keeping sediment from building up and ensuring excellent water quality.

This process may cause discolouration of the water due to the higher mineral content.  Check water before using between the hours 8 am -4 pm (Monday -Friday).

If discoloured, run the cold water until it clears.  If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Water/Wastewater Department at 519-925-2600.
