Streams Community Hub is excited to showcase the work of local artists, including both youth and practicing artists from the community.
Each piece of Streams Art Gallery Takeover art exhibited is for sale, original artwork ranges in price from $75.00 to $1,200.00.
50% of the sale price of artwork sold will be donated to Streams Community Hub.
Aliy Demedeiros has been painting, drawing, and pretty much anything revolving around art for as long as she can remember. Art has been a big passion and hobby for her, and this is the first time she has submitted to any art gallery, exhibit, or fundraiser.
Aliy Demedeiros will have 3 pieces on display.
Makenna Rooyakkers is a 20-year-old artist who loves to paint realism and semi-realism, and experiments using paints and mixed media to create her pieces. She studies at the Ontario College of Art & Design University (OCADU) in the illustration program. She grew up in Shelburne, Ontario, but for her studies, she is staying in Toronto to gain more experience in the art world.

Jaida Cohen is a young, black, female artist from Shelburne, Ontario. She has been painting for as long as she can remember, and it has blossomed into her passion ever since. Jaida will be heading to the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCADU) in September 2023 to further enhance her painting and drawing skills and is looking forward to new and exciting opportunities to express herself and practice her craft.

Megan Mare is a talented artist, entrepreneur, and educator with a deep passion for all things creative. Megan graduated with a Fine Arts Degree from OCADU in 2015. She has since utilized her creative skills through teaching and leisure outlets for personal expression. Additionally, over the pandemic, she has used her skills to pursue an alternate medium within textiles, where she now owns and operates her small business, Cozy Knits n Knots.
Since moving to Shelburne, Ontario, Megan has joined Team Streams as a program coordinator and facilitator, where she teaches her craft to youth in the community. Her passion for teaching and sharing her skills with others has been reignited, and she is thrilled to be part of an ever-growing, learning, and inspiring environment.

Janice Quirt is a writer, digital editor and communications specialist who has always had a passion for photography. She began taking photos during a field trip in grade seven and has since captured moments in time as a yearbook editor and in her career. Janice loves contrast, color, and anything that speaks of a different world, whether nature, bold creativity, or abstract blur. She can often be found roaming the streets with her Polaroid, analogue Minolta, and Fuji DSLR in search of a flash of "other" that captures her fancy.

Jo Thomson is an experimental photographer and photo artist based in Mono, ON. Using foraged botanicals and traditional photographic processes, Jo creates unique art prints under the brand name Florigin. Jo specializes in two processes: the Photogram and the Cyanotype, which both use the ‘contact’ method, resulting in prints that are original and one-of-a-kind.
While Jo has worked in the commercial creative industries, Florigin was born out of a strong desire to return to traditional printing and be creative without the constraints of a client brief. Jo's work aims to elevate ordinary objects into things of beauty, bringing joy to others and encouraging them to follow their passions in life without fear.

Keanan Dewar is a 12-year-old artist from Shelburne, Ontario, who loves to draw and create art. For Keanan, the beauty of art is that it allows you to do anything on a canvas or in a picture. Despite his young age, Keanan has already shown a great passion and talent for art and continues to explore and develop his skills.

Maria Cayo Cuenca is a 16-year-old artist and student with a cultural background from Ecuador and fluency in both Spanish and English.
Maria is a diverse and multilingual artist. In her free time, Maria enjoys painting, editing videos and photos, and singing. Additionally, she has a passion for sports, with soccer and baseball being her favorites. Maria's interests and talents inspire her to create unique and dynamic works of art.

Naomi Cameron is a student at Centre Dufferin District High School. She has taken her grade 10, 11, and 12 fine arts classes as well as a class in interior design.
She often finds herself doodling in her notebooks and drawing and painting in her free time. She is also interested in textile art forms like quilting and beading. Naomi refers to herself as “compulsively creative” as she is passionate about the arts and can't help but create things; from doodling faces in the foggy bus windows to full scale paintings and drawings.

Hazel Negar Kazemzareh is a new artist residing in Shelburne, Ontario. She loves art and tries to get unique concepts in her mind for others and encourage them to start drawing without fear of the result.

Trinda Van de Yssel, a 20-year-old artist born and raised in Shelburne,
discovered her love for art at a young age. With a crayon in hand, Trinda created her first drawing, a horse, and has been creating art ever since.
Although she has only painted for personal enjoyment, with her artwork displayed solely on her bedroom walls or shared with her grandmother, Trinda has decided to put herself out there and showcase her talent. Her biggest inspirations are her grandmother and great aunt, both artists, whose paintings have surrounded Trinda throughout her life and helped shape her expression of self and her view of the world around her.

Juli-Anne James is a multi-talented individual with diverse roles, including being a wife, a mother of three, an author, and a creative, and Executive Director of Streams Community Hub.
Born in Canada, Juli-Anne spent her early years in St. Lucia, where she worked in various family-owned businesses, including insurance companies, a chain of bakeries, and a hotel. She co-founded Streams Community Hub in 2016, a creative arts charity that aims to enrich the community through the arts.

Kim Goddard is an experienced artist with a strong passion for painting.
For her, painting is a way to make her emotions visible and to give voice to her deepest thoughts. With over 10 years of experience in the fine art industry, Kim has developed skills in painting, art education, sales, client relations, and communication. As a strong arts and design professional, she has honed her craft and created works of art that speak to her clients on a deeply personal level. Kim's paintings are waiting for the person they were intended for, and her clients find her when they are ready to connect with a piece of art that speaks to their soul. Kim hopes to inspire others to create with complete abandon and to find the same joy and expression in the arts that she has found.

Samantha Walker is an Orangeville-born artist who grew up with an interest in designing, creating, and building things.
She graduated from OCADU in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and was very active in the Toronto art scene at that time. Her acrylic paintings were shown at Spin Gallery, Engine Gallery, Wagner-Rosenbaum Gallery, the Toronto Courthouse, and even the Toronto Zoo where she completed a residency program.
She has a background in the trades and is now a Survey CAD Technician updating record drawings for buildings and completing drawings for projects and renovations. Samantha has an interest in various materials, from painting in acrylic in a traditional way, to adding found materials to a modified canvas. Figurative work is an interest of hers, however, landscapes have been Walker’s focus for her latest drawings and paintings.
Walker has more recently shown her paintings at the Town Hall Gallery in Shelburne ON, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services in Mississauga ON, and at Alexandra Park in Orangeville ON.
