After graduating in 2002 a scholar, on the deans list and receiving a bursary from Sheridan Colleges animal care program Lindsay gained employment as a veterinary technician. In 2004 Lindsay purchased her first home with her fiancé in Shelburne. It was here she would get married and begin her family of which is two daughters. She also realized her dream of owning her own business which opened its doors in 2008 as spaw-fect grooming. She is a community champion award recipient in 2018 having run local charity functions, being Homecraft president and a board member of the Shelburne agricultural society, co president of the nonprofit Junior schooners little league, member of the Shelburne Street Festival committee where she hosts the soap box derby, a member of the Shelburne Kinettes community service organization, a brownie leader for the girl guides of Canada, and co organizer of community events such as savour Shelburne, Santa Clause parade, the Shelburne Easter egg hunt and Canada day festival. Volunteering is said to be one of her greatest passions. In 2018 she stepped out of her comfort zone to run for council to which she was successful. You can usually find her at one of the local community events.
