How is property tax calculated? |
Properties are assigned a tax class based on their land usage and purpose. Annual tax rates are set according to the municipal budget and then applied to each tax class. Your taxes are then calculated by using the applicable tax rate and assessed value of each property. Watch the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation's video to learn how your taxes are calculated. |
Property assessments |
Every four years, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) evaluates properties to determine their value for taxation purposes. They use market value to determine property value. We use the assessed value of your property as the basis for calculating your property taxes. Visit the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation for more information about the assessment process and your assessment notice. Request for ReconsiderationIf you don't agree with MPAC's determination of your property value and you would like to make an appeal, please contact MPAC. |
