You need an accessible parking permit in order to park in an accessible parking space in the Town of Shelburne. Accessible parking permits are issued by the Ministry of Transportation on a temporary or permanent basis. Learn how to get an accessible parking permit through Service Ontario.
When parking in an accessible parking space, your permit must be displayed in an unobstructed manner, on the dashboard or sun visor of your vehicle. The following information must be visible from the outside of the vehicle:
The parking pass must not be altered or defaced, photocopied or reproduced. Persons using copied, altered or fraudulently obtained permits may be charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

The Town of Shelburne does not permit vehicles displaying Accessible Parking Permits to disobey any other parking prohibitions, signed or unsigned. For example, you cannot park in the following zones with an accessible parking permit:
The Town of Shelburne does allow anyone who displays an accessible parking permit to park for more than two hours on street parking, where posted.
You may receive a $300 fine if you don't follow the accessible parking requirements. In addition, the Accessible Parking Permit may be retained due to misuse and not returned to the permit holder.
