Canada Day

Get ready for a day filled with fun, entertainment, and community spirit as Shelburne comes together for its annual Canada Day festivities! Each year, the celebration features a variety of family‑friendly activities offered throughout the community, including special events hosted by local partners, free recreational opportunities, and an evening celebration organized by the Town of Shelburne.

What to Expect Every Year

Start your day with a warm community welcome at the Shelburne Legion, which traditionally hosts a Canada Day Breakfast. In the afternoon, families can often enjoy a free public swim at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex (CDRC), thanks to generous local sponsorships. The evening celebration typically takes place at Greenwood Park, where residents gather for entertainment, activities, and community fun leading up to a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

Activities may include:

  • Opening ceremonies
  • Family activities such as face painting, balloon twisting, inflatables, and character meet‑and‑greets
  • Live entertainment, such as magic shows or performances
  • A fireworks display to cap off the night

Walking or biking to Greenwood Park is encouraged, as on‑site parking is limited and the event promotes a community‑friendly atmosphere.
