The Town of Shelburne provides programs and services to our senior residents. The Mel Lloyd Centre, located in Shelburne, is home to a variety of senior programs and support services. If you are looking to meet new people, find suitable housing, or access essential health care and support, we can help.
Housing
The Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care Home is located at 151 Centre St. in Shelburne and provides housing and care to senior residents.
New Horizons Seniors Club
The New Horizons Seniors club is located in the Mel Lloyd Centre at 167 Centre St. The club encourages you to stay active and offers social and recreational programs. Visit the centre today to learn about their community programs and support services.
Senior achievement award
Each year, the Town of Shelburne honours an individual who is 65 years of age or older for their outstanding contributions to the community.
Nominate a member of our community
To nominate someone who demonstrates commitment to the community for the Senior Achievement Award, fill out a nomination form. Then, submit the form to Town Hall before June 15.
Recipients of the Senior Achievement Award typically make significant contributions to the community. These include, but are not limited to:
- Arts and literature
- Community service
- Education
- Environment and science
- Fitness, recreation or sport
- Humanitarian activities
- Preservation of history
- Voluntarism
