Garbage, Recycling and Green Bin

Dufferin County handles all waste collection in the Town of Shelburne. This includes the collection of garbage, recyclables, organics, yard waste, bulky items and white goods.

Waste Collection Guidelines

You must place all garbage and recycling at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. You are allowed one garbage bag and it must be placed:

  • In a clear plastic bag (completely transparent and colourless)
  • In a clear colourless bag within a garbage container
  • loose in a container

Recyclables, household hazardous waste, electronic waste or leaf and yard waste items are banned from the landfill. If these items are in your household waste bag it will not be picked-up.

Purchase Garbage Tags

If you have more than one bag of garbage, you need to purchase a garbage tag for any additional waste. Extra garbage tags can be purchased for $2.00 in the Town of Shelburne at:
