2023 Animal License
2023 Dog Tag Are in the Mail
If you receive a 2023 dog tag(s) and invoice in the mail it is based on the 2022 active dog tag registration and licensing database.
As a reminder, the Town of Shelburne Canine Control By-Law #15-2018 states, “Every owner of a dog shall cause such dog to be licensed with the Town before the 1st day of April in each calendar year or within seven (7) days from the date on which the dog is acquired by such persons.”
Payment options are as follows:
Online*: You can pay online at www.shelburne.ca. Under the “I Want to “tab located on the top right-hand corner. Select Dog Tags and follow the instructions. Make sure to select Animal Licenses for payment type.
By Phone*: Call 1-855-973-1933 Follow the pre-recorded instructions. To make a payment by phone, you will need:
- The account number (begins with the 0 and is 5 digits)
- Your credit card (Visa or Mastercard)
- The amount owing
**There is additional fee applied to credit card payments. The third-party contractor assesses these fees.
Pay in Person: You can pay the in person by coming to Town Hall located at 203 Main St. E. We accept cash, cheque and debit. Town Hall is open Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm and closed between 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm for lunch.
Town Hall Drop Box: You can drop off your payment outside of our regular hours. The deposit box (brass mail slot) located at the employee entrance to Town Hall on Victoria St. Please do not deposit cash.
Mail In: Make your cheque payable to the Town of Shelburne and mail it with your bill stub to:

Please Note: Failing to make a payment by the invoiced due date may result in the fees being added to the municipal tax roll for collection.

Updates to Current Information
It is important to keep you contact information and dog(s) information accurate. If your dog gets lost, and/or injured we want to be able to get them safely and quickly reunited with their owner.
If you have recently moved, have acquired a new dog(s), or you no longer have a dog that was once registered to you, kindly contact the Town of Shelburne at 519-925-2600 x 221 or email crichards@shelburne.ca to have the Dog Registry amended.
