2023 Spring Hydrant Flushing

NOTICE OF SPRING HYDRANT FLUSHING

MAY 8 – MAY 26, 2023

The Town of Shelburne will be commencing hydrant flushing May 8 – May 26, 2023 during the hours of 7:00am – 3:30pm (Monday-Friday).

Zone 1:  May 8 – May 12 (West of Owen Sound St)

Zone 2:  May 15 – May 19 (East of Owen Sound St/North of Hwy 89)

Zone 3: May 22 – May 26 (South of Hwy 89)

Flushing releases the buildup of iron and minerals from the Town’s watermains, keeping sediment from building up.  This process may cause discolouration of your water due to higher mineral content.  If you notice discolouration in your water, run a cold tap in your laundry tub or bathtub for 5-10 minutes to clear the water.
