Shelburne Town Hall Art Gallery to Host “In Our Eyes” Exhibit
The Shelburne Town Hall Art Gallery is set to unveil its latest exhibit, “In Our Eyes,” featuring an impressive array of works by local artist Alicia Janssen-Thayer. The exhibit will run from Monday, October 7 through Friday, October 25, 2024, at the gallery located at 203 Main Street East, Shelburne.

Exhibit Details:

The “In Our Eyes” exhibit has a collection of artworks that delve into various themes and styles. Visitors can expect to see a range of pieces that reflect the unique perspectives and creative expressions of the artist Alicia Janssen-Thayer. The gallery will be open to the public from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Opening Reception:

To mark the opening of the exhibit, a special reception will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This ticketless event is open to everyone, offering an excellent opportunity for art enthusiasts to meet the artists and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere.

Alicia Janssen-Thayer Biography

Art Alicia Jannsen-Thayer

Artist Alicia Janssen-Thayer raised between the city and country, Horning's Mills is her home town.

She often works with graphite and charcoal. She's a passionate musician and artist, who was told as a child was no good. She aspired to "prove" to the "man" he was wrong, eventually learning she didn't need to prove anyone wrong. Graduating from the Haliburton School of Art, this determination turned into self-love and a large appreciation for the arts, with a diploma in visual and creative arts. Inspired by artists such as Salvador Dali, Emily Carr, Janis Joplin, and Cher she aspires to make a difference in the world through music and art
