Canada Post Strike May Delay Bills – Use Other Ways to Pay

The Town of Shelburne is sending out water and sewer bills this week. But a Canada Post strike could start as early as May 22, 2025, and might slow down mail delivery.

To avoid late fees, penalties, and interest charges, you can use other ways to pay your bill:

Pay Online

Go to https://ipn.paymentus.com/rotp/tos

Use Visa or Mastercard. You will need:

  • Your 5-digit customer number (on your water bill)
  • The amount you want to pay
  • Your credit card
  • A small fee applies. Find details on the Shelburne Water/Sewer webpage.

Pre-Authorized Payments

Set up automatic payments so your bill is paid on time. Fill out a pre-authorized payment form and send it to the Town. You can change or cancel this anytime.

Telephone or Online Banking

Pay your bill by phone or computer. Make sure to:

  • Choose Town of Shelburne as the payee
  • Enter your 5-digit customer number

Pay in Person

Stop by Town Hall at 203 Main St. E. to pay with cash, cheque, debit, or drop off your payment with your bill stub in the deposit box (brass mail slot at the employee entrance on Victoria St.).

Pay at Your Bank

Visit a teller at your bank and bring your water bill to pay.

A postal strike could cause mail delays, so it’s best to use other ways to pay safely and on time.
