Community Clean Up – April 28, 2022

Ice River Sustainable Solutions will be conducting a community clean up at Greenwood Park (355 Greenwood Street) on Thursday April 28, 2022 starting at 11:00am. The public is welcome to join in and help collect litter in the park. Please ensure you bring your own protective equipment (gloves, appropriate footwear, litter grabber, safety vest, etc.) and collection bags.

The Town of Shelburne’s Public Works staff will later collect the bags of litter and will dispose of them properly. Please do not pick up any hazardous or dangerous items. If the locations of these items can be tracked, Public Works Staff will locate and remove.

Prefer to clean up a park closer to home? Head out to your local park of choice to collect litter. Please report to the Town’s Operations, Parks and Facilities Clerk to have Public Works pick up the collected litter bags. Telephone: 519-925-2600 ext. 261 or email jkaske@shelburne.ca.

Safety Tips!

• Use personal protective equipment when collecting litter.
• Only conduct clean ups during daylight hours.
• Be careful and cautious of ground conditions, wildlife, insects, and noxious weeds in the area.
• Avoid water-filled areas (streams, ponds, etc.).
• Do not pick up hazardous or dangerous items, report these to the Town. Do not pick up suspicious items, report these to the Ontario Provincial Police Dufferin Detachment.
