Covid 19 Update July 23, 2021

COVID-19 Update from Mayor Wade Mills July 23, 2021

There were 192 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ontario today which is up slightly from 185 yesterday, and 135 on Wednesday. Province-wide, our cumulative reported totals are now 548,986 cases, 538,271 resolved cases, and 9,308 reported deaths. There are currently 137 patients hospitalized with the virus with 136 currently in ICU and 84 on ventilators. Approximately 66% of Ontario adults have now been fully vaccinated, and more than 80% have received their first dose.

Within the Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health region, we have not seen any additional new cases reported since yesterday. We currently have 32 active cases throughout the region and there are currently three health unit residents in hospital. Within Dufferin County specifically, we have also not had any new cases reported within the last 24-hour period. Our current active case count stands at only two for the entire county and both cases are being reported in Orangeville – that means that there are still no active cases within the Town of Shelburne!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Get outside and enjoy the weather!

Mayor Wade Mills
