COVID 19 Update March 26, 2021
COVID-19 Update from Mayor Wade Mills March 26, 2021
I have a slightly abridged report today that will simply provide an update on current numbers.
There were 2,169 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ontario today. Province-wide, our cumulative reported totals are now 338,239 cases, 314,384 resolved cases, 7,292 reported deaths, and 913 patients currently hospitalized. It is also being reported that there are currently 359 patients currently in ICU and 215 of those are on ventilators.
As of this Tuesday past, Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health region moved into the Orange colour-coded zone. We have seen an additional 14 new cases reported since yesterday bringing our total to 131 active cases throughout the region. There are currently 17 health unit residents in hospital. Within Dufferin County specifically, we have had only one new case reported within the last 24-hour period. Our current active case count stands at 45 for the county and five Dufferin County residents are being reported as in hospital. Within the Town of Shelburne, it is reported that we have four residents who are currently positive which down from nine last week.
Stay well,
Mayor Wade Mills
