Light Up Shelburne! Holiday Home Decorating Contest

Shelburne is ready to sparkle! The Town of Shelburne invites residents to participate in the Holiday Home Decorating Contest and help spread festive cheer throughout our community. Enter your home for a chance to win one of two exciting prizes: Community Choice Award or Judge’s Choice Award each winner will receive a $50 gift card to a registered Shelburne business of their choice.

Contest Categories

• Community Choice Award – Selected by public vote (December 16–19).
• Judge’s Choice Award – Selected by a panel of Town staff based on creativity, presentation, and holiday spirit.

Both winners will receive a $50 gift card to a registered Shelburne business of their choice.

Important Dates

• Entry Deadline: Sunday, December 15 at 11:59 p.m.
• Public Voting: December 16–19
• Winners Announced: Monday, December 22, 2025

Eligibility Open to all homes within the Town of Shelburne, including single-family, semi-detached, townhouses, and apartments/condos (exterior-only). Decorations must be visible from the street and safe for public viewing.

How to Enter Register online at HaveYourSayShelburne.ca and upload one photo of your decorated home.

Please note: All participants whether entering a home or voting must register on HaveYourSayShelburne.ca. This ensures one vote per person and helps the Town reach more residents for future projects and contests.

By entering, you consent to the Town sharing your photo and street name for contest promotion and voting.

Community Voting Voting will go live December 16. Homes will be listed by street name only (no personal names published).

Judging Criteria (Judge’s Choice)

• Creativity & Originality – Unique themes, imaginative design.
• Overall Presentation – Cohesive display, colour choices, visual impact.
• Use of Lights & Decorations – Effective lighting, balanced décor.
• Holiday Spirit – Warmth, joy, and festive ambiance.

Contest Rules

• Street address must be given
• Decorations must be safe and comply with all municipal bylaws.
• Inflatables, music, projections, and themed displays are welcome if they do not create safety or noise issues.
• Only exterior decorations will be evaluated.
• By entering, participants grant the Town permission to share photos of their display.

Prizes Two winners:

• Community Choice Award – $50 gift card
• Judge’s Choice Award – $50 gift card
  Gift cards must be used at a registered Shelburne business.
