Orange Shirt Day Walk: October 2, 2021
This is a walk to acknowledge the recent findings at former Residential schools. To allow the community of Shelburne to stand in solidarity with our Indigenous community. To mourn the loss of Children’s lives and to spread awareness.
Itinerary
2:00 pm – Opening ceremony presented by DEI Committee
2:15 pm – Smudging ceremony/drumming
3:45 pm – Walk to Jack Downing Park
4:00 pm – Jack Downing Park
4:10 pm – Walk back to Greenwood Park
4:25 pm – Closing remarks by Mayor Mills and Deputy Anderson
4:40 pm – Finish*
