Parking Set Fines Increase

Notice to Residents – parking set fines will increase to $40 effective June 28, 2023.  Previously parking set fines were $15 with an early payment option of $10.  As directed by Council – staff submitted a request to the Ministry of Attorney General for an increase of set fines to $40. 

The approval was granted on June 13, 2023.  Examples of parking offences that may receive tickets are as follows: 

• Parked longer than specified by sign
• Parked on street prohibited by signs
• Parked on (or over) sidewalk
• Parked on (or over) boulevard
• Parked on roadway alongside other vehicle
• Parked left wheels to curb
• Parked on crosswalk
• Parked within 15 m of an intersection controlled by traffic lights
• Parked within 15 m of an intersection controlled by signs
• Parked on street – 12am - 8 am Nov 15 - April 15
• Parked on roadway less than 6 m in width
