If you have become unemployed or are experiencing a financial crisis due to COVID-19, you may qualify for relief measures being offered by the Town of Shelburne.
On a case by case basis, staff will work with residents to ensure they find solutions to help address financial hardships caused by COVID-19.

What financial relief measures are already in place to help?
PHASE 1 & PHASE 2
- No penalty has been charged for late payments for Taxes due May 21, 2020 and deferred to June 19, 2020 (all accounts)
- No penalty has been charged for late payments for Water & Sewer billings that were due in March and May (all accounts)
2 new Pre-authorized Payment options were developed for Water & Sewer:
- Monthly Pre-Approved Payment Plan (PAP) – 11 Equal Pre-Approved Payment Plan Installment payments Jan-Nov with final reconciliation in December
- Pre-Approved Payment Plan (PAP)– to clear arrears on account as approved by the Utility Coordinator
Other Supports
- No penalty for Dog Tags that were due April 1st, 2020 and deferred to June 1st, 2020. Online Credit Card payment option for Dog Tags was launched late June and payments can now be made through the Town’s website
- A Local Business Support Group was established in March and continues to meet regularly to determine critical needs (including re-opening needs) and to facilitate relief efforts for the local business community.
Please note that interest charges continue to apply to prior COVID-19 overdue balances
