Start of Spring Sweeping

Public Works staff conduct annual street sweeping to clean all Town streets of sand deposited during winter maintenance, and other debris. Sweeping efforts have begun throughout Town to remove the bulk of sand in the center of the roadways and to clear sand from sidewalks.

The street sweeper will return near the end of April and into May to remove the excess material accumulated at the curb.  This is the time residents should rake sand from their lawns onto the curb for collection. To help us provide the best service possible during street sweeping please do not push sand into piles, minimize residential street parking, and ensure sport equipment is not in the roadway. Sweeping typically takes 6 weeks, weather permitting.
