Streetlight Outages in Town

There has been reports of strings of Streetlight Outages on Owen Sound Street, William Street, First Avenue and Main Street. Staff have contacted the Town’s Streetlight Maintenance Contractor to dispatch a crew for repair as soon as possible. An estimated time of repair has not yet been determined but has been made a priority repair.

Some of the older neighbourhoods in Town have strings of streetlights that are controlled off a single photocell on a streetlight, and when the photocell fails the whole string of lights will be impacted. Whereas newer sections of Town will have photocells on each streetlight making a string of outages less likely.

Residents who notice problems with streetlights are encouraged to contact the Town so that a Service Request can be created for repair. Please take note of the exact location and be specific with the street it is on, any light pole identification numbers and details of the problem.
