Town Launches Special Curbside Pick-Up for Large Tree Branches
Following the recent freezing rainstorm that caused significant tree damage on both public and private properties, the Town is launching a Special Curbside Pick-Up for large tree branches and limbs.
Collection starts today, April 1, and the final pick-up will be on Friday, April 11, 2025. Residents are encouraged to place large branches at the curb as soon as possible to ensure collection.
Important Placement Instructions:
After April 11, any remaining debris will not be picked up through the special program. Instead, residents must use the Dufferin County Yard Waste services, which starts on Monday, April 14, 2025.
- Branches must be placed on the boulevard—NOT on sidewalks or roads for safety.
- Arrange all debris in the same direction to assist with efficient collection.
Yard Waste Collection Guidelines:
- Place yard waste at the curb by Monday at 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection week.
- Collection begins on Monday and continues throughout the week until the area is fully serviced.
- Brush must be tied in bundles no larger than 1.2 m x 0.6 m (4 ft x 2 ft), with branches a maximum of 7.5 cm (3 inches in diameter).
Additional Drop-Off Option:
For those who prefer to dispose of tree debris themselves, the GFL Dufferin Transfer Station is available. Fees may apply.
