Town of Shelburne Awarded All Risk Municipal Grant to Launch New Parks and Playground Reporting Tool

The Town of Shelburne is excited to announce that it has been awarded the All Risk Municipal Grant from Local Authority Services (LAS) and Intact Public Entities (IPE). This grant supports innovative municipal risk management initiatives and recognizes projects that improve safety, resiliency, and community well‑being.

With this funding, the Town is introducing a new digital reporting tool that will make it easier for residents to report issues in parks and playgrounds. The project includes the development of a centralized digital inspection and reporting system within PSD Citywide, along with new QR code signage at playgrounds to support quick, on‑the‑spot reporting.

About the Project

Town is developing a centralized digital inspection and reporting system within PSD Citywide that will:

  • Allow residents to report playground or park concerns directly from their phone
  • Allow staff to receive, track, and respond to these reports in real time
  • Support formal playground inspections and maintenance scheduling
  • Improve documentation to reduce risk and enhance safety across our parks network
As part of the project, QR code signage will be installed at local parks. When scanned, the code will direct residents to the reporting portal, making it quick and convenient to submit concerns.

How Residents Will Use the New Tool

  1. Scan the QR code posted at the park
  2. Pick what you’re reporting (damage, cleanup needed, maintenance concern, etc.)
  3. Add a brief description
  4. Confirm the location
  5. Upload a photo (optional)
  6. Submit the request

Each report is automatically logged as a service request in the Town’s system helping staff respond more efficiently and maintain safe, well‑managed parks.

Residents will also be able to access the reporting portal anytime through the Town’s website.
