Town of Shelburne extends parks closures for sports fields and rentals
With the Province having extended their Provincial Orders to June 30, 2020 and the Emergency Declaration to July 15, 2020. The Town of Shelburne has decided to extend the closure of the sports fields to July 20, 2020. We will be revisiting the closure one week prior to July 20, 2020 and will have more information to communicate at that time.
The Town is stressing that individuals are not permitted to play team sports, such as soccer, or baseball on any fields that are open for public access unless they are members of the same immediate and household family. Gatherings of more than ten individuals is not permitted.
We suggest that users consider wearing a mask or face covering if physical distancing is a challenge, and that everyone bring their own hand sanitizer and water to wash their hands before and after visiting the park.
What remains closed in Shelburne:
All playground equipment will remain closed and consistent with the orders of the Province issued on May 19, 2020.
Park rentals and field rentals, and any group bookings of parks cannot be accommodated at this time and remain suspended until July 20th, 2020.
Dogs on Leash and Poop & Scoop
We remind all our residents to always respect the requirement to walk all dogs on a leash and that ‘poop and scoop’ in our parks and all areas of our community is mandatory.
Please also consider taking any pet waste home with you rather than depositing in public garbage bins.
