Town of Shelburne Opposes Strada Aggregates Water Permit Amendment

The Town of Shelburne has formally objected to Strada Aggregates Inc.’s application to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks to amend its Permit to Take Water (ERO #: 025-1082). The proposed amendment would allow Strada to withdraw up to 5 million litres of water per day for 10 years, a volume greater than the combined daily usage of all eight lower-tier municipalities in Dufferin County.

Town of Shelburne Opposes Strada Aggregates Quarry Licence Below Water Table

The Town of Shelburne has formally objected to Strada Aggregates Inc.’s application to the Ministry of Natural Resources for a licence to operate a pit and quarry below the water table in the Township of Melancthon (ERO #: 025-1005). The proposed operation would cover approximately 100 hectares, allow extraction of 2 million tonnes annually, and require up to 5 million litres of water per day for 10 years.
