Ukrainian flag raised at Townhall

The following resolution was passed unanimously at Town Council on Monday February 28, 2022. 

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Town of Shelburne vehemently condemns the unjustified aggression being waged by Russian military forces against the people of Ukraine; 

AND THAT Council signals and affirms the support of our community for the Ukrainian people in defense of their freedom, independence and autonomy;  

AND THAT Council calls on the Prime Minister and the Government of Canada to continue its efforts in cooperation with the global community to actively and meaningfully oppose this aggression;  

AND THAT Council authorizes that the Ukrainian national flag be flown at Town Hall as a visual display of our community’s support for, and solidarity with, the people of Ukraine.
