The Part Lot Control exemption by-law is generally used for the purpose of reconfiguring existing lots or blocks within a registered plan of subdivision to facilitate development. Exemption from part-lot control is appropriate when a large number of land transactions are involved, but the resulting changes will not have cause any changes to the character or nature of the subdivision. Part-lot control exemptions are also used for semi-detached or townhouse developments. Utilizing the part lot control exemption allows a process to ensure that common walls of multi-unit buildings are located directly on property lines. Fill out the Part Lot Application Form and submit it to the Planning Department.

Consent (Land Severance) |
A consent is the legal separation of a piece of land to form a new lot. You can apply for a consent for:
Fill out the Consent Application Form and submit it to the Planning Department along with two copies of the sketch or survey as described in the application form. |
Minor Variance |
Fill out the minor variance application to get relief from an aspect of our Zoning By-law. The Committee of Adjustment will determine if your request is minor. Minor variances do not change the general intent of our Zoning By-law or Official Plan. |
Official Plan Amendment |
If your plans for development aren't consistent with the Town's Official Plan, you will need to apply for an Official Plan Amendment. |
Site Plan Application |
A site plan establishes design and technical aspects of land use and development over and above the requirements set out in the Zoning By-laws. Fill out a Site Plan Application form if you are making significant land use changes that alter the grading or surrounding environment. |
Subdivision and Condominium Application |
If you are developing a subdivision or condominium, you will need to fill out a Subdivision and Condominium Application Form to get Town approval. |
Zoning By-law Amendment |
If you need to re-zone a specific plot of land, you will need to fill out a Zoning By-law Amendment Application Form. |
