Our summer day camps are packed with fun and exciting activities! The CDRC summer day camp will focus on outdoor play, crafts, games and our very own camp swim. The daily camp schedule is subject to change and detailed information will be shared with registrants prior to the start of camp. |
2025 Specialty camps dates & themes |
Junior LeadersSpend some time this summer learning skills that will last a lifetime. The CDRC Junior Leaders will begin exploring a variety of skills including leadership, teamwork, communication, problem solving through interactive/cooperative games and activities. Leaders will be introduced to basic first aid skills. Participants will have the opportunity to swim as apart of this program. This program must have a minimum 10 participants. This program includes:
Leaders in TrainingBack by popular demand, the CDRC Leaders in Training program. Participants will spend one week training where they will learn to develop leadership skills, learn about planning programs, resume building and much more. Once training is complete, participants will complete a minimum 1 week placement in the day camp setting. Participants will select which week they would like to complete their placement and all hours can go towards their community service hours. All participants must be comfortable in a pool setting. This program must have a minimum 10 participants. This program includes:
Junior Lifeguard CampLearn what it takes to be a lifeguard! This week will introduce campers to basic rescue and first aid skills while focusing on the importance of teamwork in the pool setting. Please note: all participants MUST pass a swim test prior to the start of camp.

Camp hours |
The 2024 CDRC summer day camp runs from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Participants are to be dropped off between 8:00-9:00am and to be picked up between 4:00-5:00pm. Before and after care is available from 7:00-8:00am and 5:00-6:00pm daily but must be arranged and paid for at the time of registration. Our day camp program begins at 9:00am and concludes at 4:00pm. |
Camp readiness |
All campers must be program ready to attend the CDRC Day Camp Program. To be program ready, each participant must be able to confidently answer yes to the questions below.

What to wear |
Campers should wear comfortable clothing that is weather appropriate. It is highly recommended that all campers wear closed toed shoes and bring sandals/flip flops for water activities. |
What to bring |
In order to ensure your child is comfortable throughout the day, you should pack the following items. Please ensure all personal belongings are labelled.

What not to bring to camp |
Please leave all valuable personal items at home. The Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Camp Swimming Lessons |
The CDRC is thrilled to continue to offer Camp Swimming Lessons to our summer day camp participants! You camper must be registered for the 2 weeks of camp that align with the 2 weeks of swimming lessons. Campers will be brought down from the day camp program to attend their swimming lessons and picked up by their leaders once the less is over. |
Sign In and Out Procedure |
All parents/guardians are required to sign their child in and out of camp daily. Only individuals who are listed on their designated camper pick up list will be able to pick up campers. Photo ID will be required at each pick up. |
Age requirements |
All children must be a minimum of four years old (birth year 2014-2020) or a program's specified minimum age requirement by the first day of the program. All children must be able to take care of their own bathroom needs. |
Waitlists |
We expect our programs to fill up quickly, however we encourage you to place your child's name on the waitlist as people may withdraw from the program or additional spots may be added. |
Inclusion at camp |
We strive to integrate all campers into our summer camp programs. To help us best support your camper's experience at camp, we ask that any additional needs be disclosed during registration. All campers that require one to one support at school must have that same level of support at camp. Please note that the CDRC is unable to provide one to one support for campers, however we welcome volunteers or support workers provided by the family in this capacity. |

Camper Information: EPACT Emergency Management |
The CDRC is proud to continue its use of the ePACT Network. Please ensure that your campers profile is complete and up to date prior to arrival at the CDRC day camp program. Campers will not be permitted to attend camp without this information. |

A Parent/Guardian Information Package will be sent out prior to the start of camp. |
We want to ensure that our Summer Day Camps provide a safe and fun environment for your child. As a result, all participants and staff must abide by the Town’s R Zone policy of respectful behaviour. To accommodate those with allergies, Summer Day Camps are a peanut-free zone.
Payments |
Full payment is due at the time of registration. HST is additional to fees where applicable. A 2.95% processing fee will be applied to online credit and debit card payments. |
Cancellations & Refunds |
What happens if I miss a day?If you miss a day, you will not be rescheduled or refunded, it is always best to check the dates and times that have been scheduled for your camp. Refunds will not be issued due to weather conditions or pool fouling. Can I receive a refund if I need to withdraw from a program or it is cancelled?Refunds requested 10 business days prior to the program start date will receive a full refund, less a $35 administration fee. Refunds requested within 10 business days of the program start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the start of the program. A refund will be issued for all programs cancelled by the CDRC. Withdrawal from a program for medical reasons will be considered on an individual basis and may require a medical note. Please allow 4 - 6 weeks to process a refund. How do I apply for a refund?To request a refund for recreation programs, please complete a refund request form or contact us if you have questions and require assistance.

Additional Fees |
Non-Resident FeeAll programs offered by the CDRC are subsidized by municipal taxes from our funding municipalities, which include: The Town of Shelburne, The Town of Mono, the Township of Amaranth and the Township of Melanchthon. To keep the cost low for residents who contribute to the CDRC, through their municipal taxes, non residents are subject to an additional 6% fee per program, membership, or facility rental as applicable. A non-resident is defined as anyone who does not pay property taxes directly to the funding municipalities. The CDRC reserves the right to request proof of residency. |
