The Town is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and community-focused Recreation Programs and Community Events Assistant (Contract) to support the delivery of recreation programs, community events, cultural initiatives, volunteer activities, and municipal art gallery programming.

Reporting to the Recreation Program Development & Special Events Coordinator, this role provides administrative, logistical, and customer service support while assisting with event coordination, volunteer engagement, documentation, digital communications, and on-site event operations. There is no benefit package associated with this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination, setup, delivery, and operation of recreation programs, community events, cultural initiatives, and volunteer activities.
  • Assist with event logistics, including vendor and performer coordination, event materials, equipment, documentation, and on-site event support.
  • Support volunteer recruitment and coordination, including scheduling, communications, sign-in procedures, and event assistance.
  • Prepare and maintain program and event documentation, records, checklists, schedules, forms, and departmental files.
  • Assist with promotional materials, photography, videography, digital content creation, social media, and online communications.
  • Provide administrative support for municipal art gallery exhibits, events, and cultural programming.
  • Respond to inquiries from residents, volunteers, vendors, community organizations, and internal departments while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with inventory management of event equipment, supplies, promotional materials, and program resources.
