The 2006 Fiddle Park Management Plan was created to guide the development of the park primarily to support tourism and recreational activities in addition to the annual Fiddle Fest event.

Grant Funding
Growing Canada's Community Canopies
The Town of Shelburne is proud to have received funding through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' (FCM) Green Municipal Fund – Growing Canada's Community Canopies (GCCC) initiative. Funded by the Government of Canada's 2 Billion Trees program, the GCCC initiative helps municipalities plant the right trees in the right places to build healthier, more resilient communities.
Through this funding, the Town planted 166 new trees and a variety of native shrubs throughout Fiddle Park as part of the park's redevelopment. The project was designed to expand the park's tree canopy, increase biodiversity, improve climate resilience, and create more comfortable and welcoming public spaces for residents and visitors.
The new plantings will provide lasting environmental and community benefits, including increased shade, improved air quality, reduced urban heat island effects, enhanced stormwater management, and valuable habitat for birds and pollinators. A diverse selection of native and climate-resilient tree species was carefully chosen to help ensure the long-term health and sustainability of Shelburne's urban forest.
Ontario Trillium Foundation
The Town of Shelburne is proud to have received funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Capital Grant program to support the construction of the new basketball court at Fiddle Park.
This funding helped create a modern, accessible outdoor court that provides residents of all ages with more opportunities to participate in active recreation, connect with others, and enjoy free outdoor play in a welcoming community space.
The new basketball court is an important addition to the redeveloped Fiddle Park and supports the Town’s ongoing efforts to improve local recreation infrastructure. It provides a dedicated space for youth, families, and community members to stay active, build skills, and take part in informal games and community programming.
The Town gratefully acknowledges the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, whose investment has helped strengthen recreation opportunities and create a more vibrant, inclusive Fiddle Park for the community.

Basketball Court
Rules and regulations
Please obey all posted rules to keep the Basketball Court safe and clean. Court users assume all risks associated with the use of the Basketball Court.
The Town of Shelburne promotes respectful and responsible use of facilities through the Shelburne Rzone Policy. Anyone causing a disturbance will be required to leave the facility
1. Courts are open seasonally during day light hours (except during maintenance periods).
2. Courts are for public use on a first come, first serve basis.
3. Play time is limited to 1 hour if others are waiting.
4. Players waiting to play must remain outside of the fenced area.
5. Courts are to be used for basketball only. No other activities are permitted.

- Ball machines
- Private lessons, classes, clubs, or leagues without a permit
- No hanging on basketball rims
- Sitting, pushing, or pulling on the nets
- Ball hockey, lacrosse, skateboards, inline skating, bicycles, or other activities
- Fighting, foul language, or loud music
- Dogs or pets
- Drugs, alcohol, smoking or vaping
- Food or glass containers

Planning for the continued evolution of Fiddle Park as a community destination park was also identified through the Town’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) completed in 2019.
