The Shelburne & District Fire Department is seeking dedicated volunteers to support its Fire Prevention Team in delivering fire and life safety education programs throughout the community.
Position Summary
Volunteer Public Educators play an important role in promoting fire safety awareness through public education, training sessions, and community outreach initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fire prevention and emergency preparedness education
- Teach proper use of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
- Present to diverse audiences (children, adults, seniors)
- Assist with public education events and campaigns
Qualifications
- Teaching, training, or facilitation experience (preferred)
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to engage audiences of all ages
- Knowledge of Ontario Fire Code (asset)
- Passion for community safety and education
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
