The Wellington Street Parking Lot is located between the North Side of Wellington Street and the South side of Red Front Store Lane.
This parking lot offers:
- Free daytime parking
- 2 Accessible Parking spots
- 47 non-reserved parking spaces available
- Overnight parking by permit only. Overnight is defined as between 8 pm of one day until 8 am of the following day.
To apply for a overnight parking permit please complete the online Parking Permit Application. Permits are sold on a first come first serve basis.
Overnight Parking Permit Information:
- Overnight is defined as 8 pm to 8 am 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Permits are $35.00 per month or $420.00 per year. Please note that HST is applicable on the fees.
- One permit per registered vehicle
- Permits will not be shared between different vehicles.
- Applications must be completed in full. Incomplete applications will not be accepted
Overnight Parking Permit Terms:
- The vehicle must only be parked in authorized parking areas designated by the Town of Shelburne and to park only in the lots specified by that permit;
- The vehicle must be parked in an orderly manner so as to occupy only the space required by the one vehicle;
- Only the registered vehicle is authorized to utilize the permit while parking at any time;
- All parking and traffic requests made by Municipal Law Enforcement Officers, Police Officers or other duly appointed Town employee(s) and all regulatory traffic signs must be obeyed at all times;
- The vehicle owner must promptly notify By-law Services of any change of a vehicle/license plate, status, address, office location or telephone number, as was provided on the application form.
- Permits are not transferable.
- This permit cannot be used to park commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, trailers, vehicles with trailers or inoperable vehicles, unless otherwise approved.
- The Town of Shelburne reserves the right to cancel/suspend/revoke any permit for any reason including failing to comply with any condition set out in the parking permit or municipal by-laws, providing 24-hour notice to the permit holder.
- The Town of Shelburne, its employees or agents are not responsible for loss or damage to your vehicle or its contents, however caused. Remember to lock your vehicle.
- If a vehicle is parked without a valid parking permit or the vehicle is not currently listed on the application form or the parking permit is not displayed, in addition to any other remedy, a Police Officer or Municipal Law Enforcement Officer may issue a parking infraction notice (ticket) and/or remove such vehicle or cause same to be removed to and be stored in a suitable place, and all costs and charges for removal or storage thereof shall be a lien upon such motor vehicle.
- The Town of Shelburne reserves the right to withhold the renewal/issuance of any parking permit where the permit holder or vehicle listed on the application form has unpaid Town of Shelburne parking infractions.
- The overnight permit holder is responsible for clearing any snow around their vehicle.
- Any vehicle parked in an approved overnight municipal parking lot with a valid overnight parking permit, must be re-located to a different parking stall within a 12-hour period or by 6:00 p.m. each day to allow for snow removal and maintenance of parking lot.
