2024 Spring Hydrant Flushing

The Town of Shelburne will begin hydrant flushing between May 13 – May 31, 2024 during the hours of 7:00am – 3:30pm (Monday-Friday). 

Zone 1: May 13 – May 17 (West of Owen Sound St)
Zone 2: May 20 – May 24 (East of Owen Sound St/North of Hwy 89)
Zone 3: May 27 – May 31 (South of Hwy 89)

Flushing releases the buildup of iron and minerals from the Town’s watermains, keeping sediment from building up. This process may cause discolouration of your water due to higher mineral content. If you notice discolouration in your water, run a cold tap in your laundry tub or bathtub for 5-10 minutes to clear the water.
