2026 Street Sweeping Program Begins the Week of May 04, 2026

Each spring, sand and debris are removed from roads and parking lots to keep streets and storm sewers clean. This work helps prevent materials from entering and clogging the storm system and ensures a safer, cleaner driving surface for all road users.

The Town’s annual street sweeping program will begin the week of May 04, weather permitting.

Street sweepers will move zone by zone throughout the community. Updates will be shared as crews begin work in each area and as they progress across Town.

Ahead of the sweeping program, Operations crews are already working throughout Town, preparing roads, and removing sand and debris from catch basins, sidewalks, and the downtown core to support an efficient cleanup.

How You Can Help

  • Rake lawn sand to the curb by May 03
  • Do not sweep material into piles on the roadway
  • Avoid parking on residential streets during sweeping operations
  • Keep garbage and recycling bins off the road; bring bins in promptly on collection days
  • Keep sports equipment off the roadway and away from curbs and boulevards
  • Expect some noise and dust while sweeping is underway
  • Use caution when travelling near sweeping equipment
  • Be patient — weather conditions may delay operations

Sweeping operations are typically completed by June, weather permitting.
