Fall Flushing

Fall Hydrant Flushing will start September 12 until October 7.  Hydrant flushing will follow a schedule which is broken down into three zones. Please see the hydrant flushing zones map. 

Zone 1:  September 12-16 (West of Owen Sound)
Zone 3:  September 19-23 (South of 89)
Zone 2:  September 26-October 7 (East of Owen Sound/North 89)

Flushing will release the buildup of iron and minerals from the Town’s water mains, keeping sediment from building up and ensuring excellent water quality.

This process may cause discolouration of the water due to the higher mineral content.  Check water before using between the hours 8 am -4 pm (Monday -Friday).

If discoloured, run the cold water until it clears.  If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Water/Wastewater Department at 519-925-2600.
