Shelburne Gears Up for a Full Day of Canada Day Celebrations

Shelburne residents and visitors can look forward to an exciting day of community celebration on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, as the town hosts a full lineup of Canada Day activities for all ages.

The day begins with the popular CDRC Canada Day Swim from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., generously sponsored by Tim Hortons, offering families a fun and refreshing way to kick off the holiday.

Festivities continue in the evening at Greenwood Park (781 Greenwood Street), where activities and entertainment begin at 6:00 p.m. with the official opening ceremonies.

The evening program features a diverse lineup of entertainment, including a lively bubble show, a Gordon Lightfoot tribute performance, and a magical performance by Lofty the Magician. Music lovers can enjoy the tribute concert interwoven throughout the evening.

From 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., families can explore a wide variety of activities including face painting, inflatables, balloon twisting, glitter tattoos, and interactive community booths. The popular “Kick It at the Park” soccer zone, funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage, provides even more opportunities for fun and active play.

A selection of local food vendors will be on-site, offering something for everyone from sweet treats to savory favourites. Featured vendors include Make it Sweet, Wood Smoke Shack, Blitzful Treats, Sunshine Sips Lemonade, and Funnel Cake Dream.

The day will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk, proudly funded by the Government of Canada.

Shelburne’s Canada Day celebration promises to be a vibrant and memorable experience for residents and visitors alike.
