The Town is currently accepting applications for the position of Recreation Programs and Community Events Assistant (Contract), an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, recreation programming, cultural initiatives, and special events.
Reporting to the Recreation Program Development & Special Events Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting recreation programs, community events, volunteer activities, and municipal art gallery programming throughout the year.
The position includes assisting with event planning and logistics, volunteer coordination, promotional activities, social media content creation, and on-site event operations. The Recreation Programs and Community Events Assistant will also provide administrative support, maintain program documentation, and work closely with residents, community groups, vendors, and performers to help deliver high-quality experiences for the community.
The Town offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $28.57 to $33.60 (2026), enrollment in the OMERS Pension Plan, access to professional development opportunities, and unlimited participation in live webinars through the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI).
