Fridays in the Park

Fridays in the Park: Downtown Activation is now in its third successful year, continuing to bring energy, activity, and vibrancy to Shelburne’s downtown. Delivered as part of the Community Improvement Plan (CIP), this initiative features a series of free community events designed to bring people together and strengthen the local economy.

Throughout the 2025 season, residents and visitors enjoyed live music, children’s entertainment, and interactive community activities in Jack Downing Park. These events helped attract people to the downtown core, increasing foot traffic for local businesses and creating a welcoming, lively atmosphere for all ages.

The impact goes beyond the event experience. The 2025 Fridays in the Park event generated an estimated $63,900 in local economic activity, meaning that for every $1 invested, $1.79 flowed back into the local economy. This represents a 79% return on investment, or a net gain of $28,245 for Shelburne beyond the initial municipal investment.

The 2026 season of Fridays in the Park: Downtown activation promises to be even better, and will continue to demonstrate how community‑focused programming can successfully support local businesses, engage residents and visitors, and contribute to a thriving, vibrant downtown.
