Grow 2 Give

Plant a Seed. Nourish a Neighbor.

Your garden can make a difference. The Town of Shelburne and the Dufferin County Community Harvest Initiative invite you to join Grow to Give - a program that turns your backyard, balcony, or community garden plot into a source of hope for families facing food insecurity.

Plant what you can. Support your community.

Grow to Give invites community gardeners across Dufferin County to take part in a flexible, community‑led initiative that supports local families facing food insecurity. Whether you grow in a backyard garden, a few balcony pots, or a community plot, every contribution helps.

We are offering a limited selection of free seeds and invite participants to let us know what they would like to plant. Growers are encouraged to participate at a level that suits their available space, time, and capacity—whether that’s growing a little or a lot.

Available Seeds

Participants may request one or more of the following:

  • Red Bush Beans
  • Ginger
  • Scotch Bonnet Peppers
  • Buttercup Heritage Squash

Seeds are available while supplies last.

Getting Started

To help us prepare and distribute seeds fairly, all interested gardeners are asked to complete a short survey.

Take the Grow to Give Seed Selection Survey

If you are unable to complete the survey online, contact us by email.

Together, small efforts add up to a stronger, more food-secure community.
