Background

History

The Town of Shelburne continues to enhance its parks and outdoor recreation services and through a council resolution has invested in the addition of two outdoor multi-use courts. The tennis and pickleball courts will be a great addition to the Town’s recreation asset management portfolio and will provide another avenue for outdoor play. Currently there are no outdoor municipal tennis or pickleball facilities available for public use.

Goals and Outcomes

The Town’s first outdoor tennis and pickleball courts will be located at KTH Park, behind the existing washroom facility. The approximate size of the two courts will be 108 feet by 120 feet with a perimeter fence installed. The courts will have an asphalt base and will have lines painted for both tennis and pickleball. This provides a good opportunity for both sports to be played within Shelburne and optimize the use of the court facilities.

Residents will be able to enjoy use of the courts from Spring to Fall between dawn and dusk.

Council’s commitment to the revitalization of the park is outlined in Council’s Strategic Priorities Goals - Sustainable, Engaged and Livable.
