Mobile Food and Refreshment

You need a mobile food and refreshment business license in order to operate a refreshment vehicle or stand within the Town of Shelburne. This includes, but is not limited to, a chip truck, food cart, ice cream bicycle, ice cream truck, mobile lunch truck and any mobile food and refreshment stand.

Mobile Food Vendor License must be renewed annually.

Should a new sign be required for your restaurant, you must apply for a Sign Permit. 

Fees

The following fees apply to short term business licenses:

• $356 for Shelburne residents
• $695 for non-residents

Rules and Regulations

Review the Short Term Business License By-Law for full details on how to operate a mobile food truck in Shelburne. For example, you must:

• Only operate a refreshment vehicle in  zones as outlined in the Zoning By-law
• Have liability insurance for $2 million and name the Town of Orangeville as an additional insured
• Have your mobile vendor license available at all times for inspection
• Keep the refreshment vehicle clean and sanitary and meet all public health requirements
• Ensure all food is wrapped and sold in single-serve packages or disposable containers and napkins are provided for customers
• Provide a garbage receptacle that can hold all waste generated by the refreshment vehicle or stand, and remove the garbage receptacle before leaving
