It was on October 8, 1971, in a statement to the House of Commons, that Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau announced multiculturalism as an official government policy. The intent was not only to preserve the cultural freedom of all individuals, but also to recognize the cultural contributions of diverse ethnic groups to Canadian society; and

With Canada Day celebrations on Monday July 01, 2024, there will be temporary disruptions to vehicle access through the north gate at Fiddle Park (105 Second Line) from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
