Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA)

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) is a registered charity, established under the Conservation Authorities Act and governed by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is composed of council members within its boundary. For a listing of current members visit Board of Directors on the NVCA website. The Town of Shelburne appointed member is Councillor Kyle Fegan. 

Shelburne Business Improvement Area

The Shelburne BIA promotes businesses and supports improvement projects in downtown Shelburne. The host events, conduct advertising programs and promote the area as a pleasant place to shop, work and live. The Town of Shelburne appointed members are Councillor Len Guchardi and Councillor Dan Sample.

Citizens and community members can get involved and make a difference in our community through membership on the various boards and committees appointed by Shelburne Town Council.

Committees provide advice and recommendations to Council on a variety of issues, including heritage, recreation and facilities, and economic and community development. View webpage committee terms of reference or the PDF terms of reference for advisory committees of council. Citizens are invited to take the opportunity to serve on a committee or board.

Please note Committee member terms run with the current term of Council which is 2023 - 2026.  

Join a Committee or Board

To join a committee or board, you need to:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be a resident of Shelburne
  • Explain why you want to join the committee or board
  • Indicate the skills, training or experience that would make you a suitable candidate for the position.
  • Committee members are volunteer positions

Code of Conduct

Members of Town Committees follow a Code of Conduct that outlines appropriate behaviour for the position. Committee members must keep certain information confidential, act impartially and not use their position for personal gain or influence.
