Do not park on roadways during the winter months. Parked vehicles can prevent snow removal crews from clearing the roads in a timely and efficient manner.
- Park your car within your driveway so your vehicle does not extend onto the street or sidewalk as this may obstruct snow clearing operations.
- Vehicles obstructing snow clearing operations may be subject to a fine.
- Please be advised that parking on all municipal streets and parking lots any day from November 15 through April 15 between the hours of 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. is prohibited to facilitate snow clearing or removal. For more information on winter parking, read our town by-laws
- For further information about parking restrictions, please visit the parking webpage or contact the By-Law Enforcement department.
Winter Parking Restrictions – 2025/2026 Season
At the September 8, 2025 Council meeting Council approved changes to the winter parking duration for the upcoming season.
The Town of Shelburne is advising residents that winter on-street parking restrictions will now be in effect from December 1, 2025, through April 15, 2026. Previously, winter parking restrictions were from November 15 to April 15.
To support efficient snow removal and ensure safe roadways, on-street parking will be prohibited daily between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. during this period. Vehicles left on the street during restricted hours will receive parking tickets.
Holiday Exemptions
To provide added flexibility for residents and their visitors during the holidays, exemptions have been approved by Council and will be in place during the following periods:
- 12:01 a.m. December 24 to 11:59 p.m. December 27
- 12:01 a.m. December 31 to 11:59 p.m. January 1
Please note: These exemptions may be suspended if significant snowfall or a declared weather event requires uninterrupted plowing operations. Follow the Town’s website and social media for up-to-date information
The Town thanks residents for their cooperation in helping to keep roads clear and safe during the winter months.
This is not a permanent change and will be reviewed by Council for the 2026/2027 winter season.
