The Partnership Project Has Started
The Shelburne splash pad is in partnership with the Rotary Club of Shelburne.
Construction of the splash pad started January 2023 with connecting storm and water services to existing municipal systems.

Installation of the splash pad started May 2023.
Works completed during the installation included:
- Preparation of ground for the splash pad forming.
- Installation of the 2500-gallon tank.
- Installation of the rain diverter.
- Installation of the meter building.
- Installation of the plumbing for the splash pad equipment.
- Plumbing connections between tank, drain, pad, and meter building.
- Concrete pour for the splash pad.

Background
History
The splash pad is in partnership with the Rotary Club of Shelburne which led a fundraising initiative to contribute $300,000 of the $700,000 project cost. Splash pad equipment purchased by the Rotary is expected to be delivered in late August to early September 2022.
The 2020 budget included a new splash pad within Shelburne. Due to COVID-19 the project was delayed. The project was re-included in the Council approved capital budget for 2022.
Goals and outcome
The Town’s first splash pad will be located at Greenwood Park, in front of Thunder Soccer Pitch. The approximate size of the splash pad will be 2500 sqft (232 sq meter). Residents will be able to enjoy use of the splash pad from May and September between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Adding the splash pad at Greenwood Park will enhance the parks use, appearance and vibrancy.

When will the splash pad open?

Will Greenwood Park remain open during construction?
The portion of the park subject to construction improvements will be closed during construction. However, the rest will remain open.
Residents will be able to enjoy use of the splash pad from May to September (weather dependant) between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm
Is parent supervision required?
All children must have adult supervision at all times.
What should I bring when visiting the splash pad?
Visitors are encouraged to bring a towel and wear appropriate swim attire. Footwear/sandals are recommended.

Is the splash pad open if it rains?
The splash pad may be closed in the event of inclement weather, including rain.
Rules and regulations
Please obey all posted rules to keep the splash pad safe and clean. The splash pad area is an unsupervised water play area. You assume all risks associated with the use of the splash pad.
The Town of Shelburne promotes respectful and responsible use of facilities through the Shelburne Rzone Policy. Anyone causing a disturbance will be required to leave the facility.
- Splash pad is open daily from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm (except during maintenance periods).
- All children must have adult supervision at all times.
- Recreational water is not intended for drinking.
- Do not use the splash pad if you have an open sore or rash or if you are experiencing nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
- Wear appropriate swim attire (including swim diapers for non-toilet trained children). Footwear/sandals are strongly recommended.
- All users must play in a responsible, safe and family-oriented manner.
- Please clear the area when conditions for thunder or lightening are possible.
